Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) today announced that Ali Safavi, CEO of Grenova, a fast-growing manufacturer of innovative pipette tip washing technology for the life sciences industry, was named an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2021 Mid-Atlantic Award finalist. Now in its 35th year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program honors unstoppable business leaders whose ambition, ingenuity and courage in the face of adversity help catapult us from the now to next and beyond.

Ali Safavi was selected by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced during a special virtual celebration on August 3rd and will become lifetime members of an esteemed community of Entrepreneur Of The Year alumni from around the world.

“Serving as an Entrepreneur Of The Year 2021 Mid-Atlantic Award finalist, and our tremendous growth as a company at large, is a sign that the world is celebrating those ready to rethink, reimagine, and reinvent the way plastic consumables like pipette tips are washed and reused within the life sciences industry and beyond,” said Safavi.

“In 2015, Grenova launched its solution as the only patented and scientifically proven green technology capable of washing, sterilizing, and reusing pipette tips in large quantities. Since that time, over 1 billion pipette tips have been washed and reused by Grenova, proving the safety and effectiveness of the only reuse technology available to the healthcare industry,” said Safavi. “Grenova’s solution has reduced plastic pipette tip consumption in partner labs by 90 percent, resulting in a significant cost savings while dramatically cutting plastic waste impacting the environment. Today, Grenova’s tip washers are implemented in the largest domestic and international labs around the world as well as within NIH, NCI, and CDC.”
